At Duffy Properties, we take pride in our strong community ties and commitment to supporting local organizations. Throughout the year, we give back to our community in a few different ways: financial contributions, volunteerism, and hosting charitable initiatives.

AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY

PEDAL TO END CANCER

Our state-of-the-art athletic facility, Waverley Oaks Athletic Club, raised over $27,300 for the American Cancer Society through its Pedal to End Cancer initiative with dozens of riders and supporters collectively raising funds for the cause while honoring cancer survivors.

COMMUNITY DAY CENTER OF WALTHAM

SHOE DRIVE

Every spring, the Community Day Center of Waltham hosts a Sneaker Day. On this day, clients of the center can pick up sneakers and transition out of winter boots. Through our Shoe Drive, over 50 pairs of sneakers were collected. These contributions provided comfort, support, and a sense of dignity to our less fortunate neighbors.

MGH BLOOD DONOR CENTER

BLOOD DRIVE

Donating blood is crucial as it saves lives and supports healthcare systems, and the blood drive (hosted at our Waverley Oaks Park campus) was an incredible success. Almost all the available appointments for the day were booked resulting in over 50 donations which will help up to 150 patients.

COMMUNITY DAY CENTER OF WALTHAM

CLOTHING DRIVE

Hundreds of items of clothing were collected for our neighbors experiencing homelessness. The donations received from the summer clothing drive were instrumental in the opening of the center’s new “shop” (pictured) where Day Center clients can select new clothes at no charge.

BECCA PIZZI FOUNDATION

5K FUNDRAISER

For the third year, our athletic club division supported The Becca Pizzi 5k Run/Walk. Nearly a dozen dedicated staff participated in the fundraiser which benefits high school students by providing sports equipment and college scholarships to help them reach their performance and life goals.

MEMBER APPRECIATION EVENT

The Waverley Oaks Athletic Club Member Appreciation Event is a much-anticipated annual event featuring delicious food, great vendors and raffle prizes. This year’s charity partners were Healthy Waltham & Our Space Inc. At the event, our charity partners collected items to support their respective programs & services.

FOOD DRIVE

The non-perishable food and toiletry items collected through our annual food drive benefited families and individuals facing food insecurity and lacking personal hygiene products. Through MSHA’s programs and services, individuals and families can return to independence and a healthier life.

Every year, our Holiday Toy Drive brings in hundreds of donations to benefit Thom Child & Family Services and Waltham Boys & Girls Club. With the help of the overwhelming support from our community, the holiday season is brighter for local families in need.
